Read Gives Technology and Ocean Talk

The technology revolution has the potential to help us address some of the most critical needs in ocean management. In July 2014, OceanWork Principal Tory Read gives a TED-style talk at International Technological University in San Jose, CA, on ocean issues and tech solutions. Sharing stories of successful uses of new technologies in the ocean sector, Read’s goal is to inspire up-and-coming coders to use their skills to help save our seas. Her talk  features the latest information on technology used in ocean observing systems, as well as apps and mobile platforms developed to track fish catch and support sustainable seafood choices. Read covered the U.S. State Department’s Fishackathon in June and includes her findings in this talk. Check out her blog post on Fishackathon here.
